Cafe Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in our café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen interest in food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Serve customers with a friendly and attentive approach, providing information about menu items and daily specials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
• Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with setup and service as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently when required.
• Assist in training new staff members in café procedures and best practices.

Experience

• Previous experience in a café or restaurant environment is preferred, showcasing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience as a barista is advantageous, along with knowledge of coffee preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with catering services is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices is required.

Shifts are between the hours of 06:00 to 21:30 (8 hour shifts) and must be flexible across 7 day week.

Excellent rates of pay and benefits.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.50-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
