Part-time Bookkeeper

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for transactional bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, sales-tax filings, and month-end support. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, confident using QuickBooks Online, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Complete day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including accurate recording and coding of financial transactions
  • Reconcile bank, credit-card, accounts receivable, and accounts payable accounts
  • Prepare and process payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Calculate, reconcile, and remit payroll source deductions, including CPP, EI, and income tax
  • Prepare, reconcile, and file GST and PST returns by required deadlines
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain organized supporting documentation, including invoices, receipts, and financial records
  • Assist with expense tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Support month-end close by reconciling balance-sheet accounts and preparing required reports
  • Assist with year-end payroll reporting, including T4 preparation

Qualifications

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small-business or multi-entity environment
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit-card reconciliations
  • Experience processing payroll and handling related compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with GST/PST reporting and CRA payroll source-deduction remittances
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet recurring deadlines, and work independently in a part-time role
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skill

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
