Specialty Representative – GI Care

Job Description:

  • Execute AbbVie brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
  • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
  • Build customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
  • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and secure calls to action to close sales calls
  • Serve customer needs and expectations and build trusted customer relationships
  • Develop and execute call plans to optimize customer coverage, frequency, access, and sales opportunities
  • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales practices
  • Share market intelligence with field, brand, and sales teams
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
  • Travel approximately 20% of the time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, with three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of success in selling
  • Solid presentation skills
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams
  • HCIR credentialing requirements, potentially including background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
  • Good standing and/or eligibility to obtain required HCIR credentials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight scheduled training events and sales meetings
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing for non-English-speaking countries
